University of Western Australia (UWA) announces its 3rd Machinima Challenge with a $L100,000 Grand Prize.machinima

The Machinima Challenge is open now and runs until the May 1st deadline.

The theme is 'Journeys' and what that means to the machinimatographer. The possible are virtually limitless, whether it is a journey traveling through Second Life, a journey of self discovery or a journey within. It can be a journey of hope, a journey of despair or a journey through space, through time. Is yours journey of reality or fantasy? It can be your own journey, or a journey by someone else seen through your eyes. A journey can be whatever you can imagine.

There are a few simple rules.

The first and most important rule of the journey is that the Winthrop Clocktower is the heart of UWA.

The Winthrop Clocktower is at the UWA Main SIM http://slurl.com/secondlife/University%20of%20WA/109/213/2

The machinima journey must either start or end at the Winthrop Clocktower at the main UWA sim. Beyond that, Second Life is open to the machinimatographer’s creativity.

The lands, significant artworks and individuals you feature should be acknowledged.

The suggested length of the machinima is 4 to 6 minutes, but longer or shorter submissions will be accepted.

A special gala will be held on May 30th to announce the winners.

Selected entries will be available for viewing on the University of Western Australia (UWA) Second Life Blog.
