The popular Handheld Librarian program continues with Conference V. As previous attendees know, Handheld Librarian Online Conference Series “includes a one day online expo for Library professionals wanting to get the latest information on hand held technologies including ebooks, location based networking, lending devices and mobile technologies.

The next one conference V will take place on July 28th 2011. As with pervious events Conference V and is free to attend”.

Day 1 of the conference will feature professional development for librarians by librarians. This is the grass-roots nature of our highly successful program. Handheld Librarian V will build on the success of prior conferences in which an array of presenters share their experiences and insights on topics addressing themes such as ebooks, location-based social networking, and lending devices, as well as reference and mobile technologies impacting society. In addition to the concurrent sessions, the conference’s keynote address will be delivered by Jolie O'Dell , Technology & Web Development Reporter at Mashable and Editor & Publisher at Juniper Press.

Day 2 will feature a virtual “Expo” of live presentations by companies and organizations providing mobile products and services for libraries, as well as virtual booths where you can stop in and visit in real-time in an informal setting with representatives from each company.

Some of the top vendors servicing the mobile sector of Libraries will be presenting solutions via a series of webcasts as well as each having virtual booths where you can meet representatives and enter to win some great prizes.
